Meet Our Officers

President

Adrian Ryan

A Tabb Senior, Adrian takes on the role of Key Club President.  He finds Key Club rewarding, as it provides numerous opportunities for him to help members of the Tabb community. Adrian has not lived in the Tabb area his whole life; he used to live in California during elementary school and moved to Virginia in sixth grade. Adrian is also involved in SCA, Model UN, Beta Club, Chess Club, and is a District 5 representative on the York County Youth Commision.  After high school, Adrian plans to pursue a degree in government.

Vice President

Kelly Moore

As a Tabb Senior, Kelly takes on the position of Vice President.  She has been with the Key Club community since freshman year.  She thinks of Key Club as one big happy community and loves serving it as much as possible. Kelly has lived in Virginia for most of her life and attended Tabb schools since elementary school.  She is also involved with Varsity tennis, Science honor society, National honor society, DECA, and various other volunteering activities.  In college, Kelly plans to study neuroscience and animal science, and then later pursue veterinary medicine.  But most importantly her favorite animal is the Fluffy Scottish Cow.

Secretary

Mackenzie Smoot

Going into her sophomore year, Mackenzie uses her assertive nature and leadership qualities to guide the Tabb Key Club in the right direction as their Secretary.  She joined Tabb Key Club at the beginning of her freshman year after she recently moved from Florida.  Mackenzie finds the positive impacts left on communities and lives around her to be the most rewarding part of Tabb Key Club.  Outside of academics and community service, she is in 3 additional clubs and plays lacrosse and field hockey for Tabb. After high school, Mackenzie plans on attending college and law school to achieve a career as a lawyer.

Treasurer

Jacob Kimball

Going in to his senior year, Jacob is ready to take on his third year as the Tabb Key Club Treasurer.  What he loves most about Key Club is meeting new people who share the same interest in helping others and the community.  As part of an Air Force family, he lived overseas for the majority of his life before settling at Tabb.  Jacob has been with the Tabb community since the middle of seventh grade.  Jacob plays Varsity soccer and is a member of Student Ambassadors.  After High school, Jacob looks to further his education in college, possibly pursuing something in the computer science field.

Webmaster

Connor Biebel

As a senior at Tabb,  Connor is ambitious to take on his job as webmaster for his fourth and final year in Key Club.  What he loves most about Key Club is getting the opportunity to meet new people and witnessing first hand the impact that he and his peers made on the community.  He served as the Sophomore Class Director during the 2020/2021 school year and is excited to be back working with the board again.  Connor is also involved in Beta Club, Model UN, and plays Varsity Baseball for Tabb.  After high school, he plans to pursue a business degree in college before joining the Air Force to become a fighter pilot.

Editor

Dervin Bargash

As a rising senior, Dervin intends to approach her role as editor with vigor and determination.  She find that this club offers many opportunities to support the community as well as encounter great people along the way. In addition to Key Club, Dervin is a member of National Honors Society, Science Honors Society, English Honors Society, Tabb Ambassadors, and various other activities.  She serves as the Yearbook's editor in chief, the Beta club's liaison, and the President of Quill and Scroll Honor Society.  After high school, Dervin hopes to pursue a career in medicine.

Senior Director

Seth Calhoun

As a Tabb senior, Seth will be taking on the position of Key Club Senior Class Director.  This is Seth’s first year holding a board position, but he has been an active member of Key Club since his sophomore year.  He enjoys volunteering in the Tabb community and making a difference any way he can.  Last year Seth attended the Capital District Key Club convention in Arlington where he was able to meet other Key Clubbers in the district. That positive experience inspired him to take a bigger role in Tabb’s Key Club.  Seth lived in Maryland for 14 years but moved to Yorktown before his freshman year of high school and has been attending Tabb since.  Seth is also a member of Mu Alpha Theta and National Honor Society in addition to Key Club.  After high school, Seth plans to either pursue a college degree in a tech related field, such as computer science or information systems, or further his career with NASA after successfully interning there this past summer.

Junior Director

Janie Qing

As a rising junior, Janie is dedicated to serving the community and serving in the position of junior class officer.  To her, Key Club is not only an outlet for volunteer hours, it is a way to build connections and help others.  From serving as treasurer for the class of 2024 to playing soccer and running cross country, she is heavily involved in academics, athletics, and the community.  Although Janie is undecided on what she wants to do after high school, she is certain to take the skills and knowledge that she gained in Key Club with her.

Sophomore Director

Mary Kate Ross

Laney is a senior, and she has been at Tabb since Kindergarten. She loves helping others and giving back to the community, which is a main reason why she loves key club. Laney served as the junior class director during the 2020-21 school year and will serve as the sophomore class director for the 2021-22 school year. Aside from key club, she is also a member of National Honor Society, Beta Club, National English Honor society, and Relay for life. She is the editor in chief for the yearbook this school year as well as the historian for National Science honor society and the president of quill and scroll honor society. After Laney graduates, she wants to further her education and earn a degree in elementary education.

Freshman Director

Kylie Lovell

Going into sophomore year, Kylie is excited to be a Key Club officer.  She loves that Key Club is something where you can make a difference, and also have fun!  She plays Tabb JV and club volleyball.  Kylie also serves her church on Sundays.  She plans to work in healthcare when she is older.

Teacher Advisor

Mrs. Leslie Turner

Mrs. Wheat has been the THS Key Club Advisor for over 6 years.  She is the World Language Department Chair & a veteran Spanish Teacher of 16 years.  She was recognized in 2020 as the Key Club Advisor of the Year for the Capital District and in 2019 received the York County Schools Apple Award for Tabb High School. She is a Teacher of the Year Nominee and National Board Certified. This is her favorite job because there is no greater joy than watching young men and women develop into incredible world leaders by helping their school and community.
